Professional Medical Billing Ltd., Inc. was started in 1987 in the basement of Pro Med’s president, Kellie Swartz. In 1993, Professional Medical Billing became a corporation. Two years later, Pro Med moved to its current location at 3061 Christy Way in Saginaw, Michigan. In 2001 Professional Medical Billing took over an additional suite to double its size. In the fourth quarter of 2008, Pro Med expanded to a third suite to again increase its capacity. Pro Med has been an “Approved Service Bureau” member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan since opening for business in 1987.
With a staff of 25+ and gross billings in 2008 of over 37 million, Professional Medical Billing is one of the largest independent medical billing services in the Tri-City ( Saginaw, Bay City, Midland) area. Pro Med has clients that range from solo practices to large multi-physician groups located all over the state of Michigan.
Professional Medical Billing is a member of the Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA). Kellie Swartz has received the Certified Healthcare Billing and Management Executive (CHBME) certificate of achievement from HBMA, an indication of her commitment to excellence.
